Bio

My research interests are in physics beyond the standard model, particularly its signatures in collider and dark matter experiments, and more generally in the physics of strongly-coupled elementary particles, which I study numerically using large-scale computing. In closer
connection to the CTQM, I am interested in renormalization and the emergence of conformal symmetry in quantum field theory, and in searches for light dark matter using high-precision tabletop experiments.

High energy physics studies the nature of matter and the forces of Nature on the smallest scales. In recent years, high energy physicists have also begun to study the quantum nature of gravity. There are several areas of active research in high energy physics that overlap with other fields of physics in the broad study of quantum matter, from connections to nuclear physics and condensed matter physics in the study of the strong nuclear force to applications of quantum information science in the study of quantum black holes. The development of string theory as a theory of quantum gravity has led to the gauge/gravity (or AdS/CFT) correspondence, directly linking strongly correlated quantum matter to black hole physics in higher dimensions. These subjects are among the most active areas of research today.
